CARLISLE SPRINT TRIATHLON – Sunday 2nd August 2020
Carlisle Triathlon is a sprint distance triathlon suitable for beginners and seasoned athletes. The event includes a 500m pool swim and flat or gently undulation roads for the bike and run sections. Online Entry Cost £35 / £32 BTF members. Entries will be taken on the day, subject to spaces being available. Prices for entries on the day will be £40.00 / £37.00 for BTF members
Date: Sunday 2nd August 2020.
Location: Richard Rose Morton Academy, Wigton Road, Carlisle, Cumbria CA2 6LB.
Registration: Open from 11:00 to 12:00 at the entry tent. BTF members MUST show their licence or pay a levy.
Race safety briefing: Mandatory race briefing 12:15. First swim wave 12:35.
Race start: First swim wave 12:35.
Parking: Parking will be inside and outside the school grounds. However, please note that if you park on the triathlon route within the grounds you may be held up getting your car out if the race is still underway.
Facilities: Toilets for both male/female are available. There will be no indoor spectators for the swim heats therefore wet weather clothing may be required. Light refreshments will be available to purchase.
Course: The event uses a mixture of quiet country roads which are generally flat or gently undulating. The road surfaces are generally excellent but there are rougher areas especially near some of the junctions. Caution should be taken at all turns.
Risk Assessment: A full course risk assessment will be on display at the event HQ on race morning together with details of the liability insurance and British Triathlon registration. Hard shell helmets conforming to the appropriate British safety Standard are compulsory.
Prizes: Prize presentation will occur as soon after the last competitor has finished. Prizes will be awarded for the following (subject to entries):

I understand that it is my own sole responsibility to obey the Highway Code at all times during the course of the event. I understand fully that taking part in events on the public highway is not without risk and the organisers, whilst taking reasonable steps to reduce risk, cannot guarantee my safety.
