**Date for your diary**
Sorry for the delay in this being announced but there has been quite a bit of work going on in the background to get it all together. Friday 27th November, The Dutch Uncle will host the Carlisle Tri Club Festive Triathlon – Eat, Drink & Be Merry. Lots planned for the night which will include a festive hot buffet, the club presentations and live music. The ticket info and further details will be announced on the club newsletter, on here, on the website and on Instagram soon. In the meantime make sure you put the date in your diary!
Huge Club turnout for the Cumbrian Run
Scores of Carlisle Tri Members descended upon the historic Carlisle Castle on Sunday morning to line up for the 33rd Great Cumbrian Run. Perfect running conditions and a well-supported route seemed to do the trick as PBs were smashed all over the place and smiles crossing the finish-line were plentiful! Well done to everyone who ran – and to those who who turned out to support, it looked like a fantastic day! Huge congratulations to first Carlisle Tri male over the line Paul McKneispey (1:23:29) and first female Louisa Waite (1:40:39) – brilliant times from both of you. The full list of results are now online here and free photography from all around the course is available here.
Ironman Barcelona Round-up
Huge respect and congratulations going out to Carlisle Tri Members Phil Whitehead and Brian Allen who both put in simply incredible performances on their way to becoming Ironmen (again!) in Barcelona on Sunday. Competing against triathletes from all over the world, Phil’s outstanding finish time of 9hrs 7mins 12secs placed him 80th overall and 15th in his division. Phil’s splits: Swim 58:53 / Bike 4:49:55 / Run 3:14:09. Brian’s impressive time of 11hrs 7mins 53secs also put him in the top 20 finishers in his division (17th). Brian’s splits: Swim 59:45 / Bike 5:25:06 / Run 4:36:34. Well done to both of you on your inspirational performances – hope you are recovering well (and still celebrating!).
Well done Carlisle Tri Chester Marathon Team!
It was a glorious sunny day down in Chester on Sunday for Uncle Steve’s first marathon attempt. With the support of fellow Carlisle Tri Members – Ian and Margaret Lowis and Andrew Atkinson – Steve battled the miles, the sun and the persistent leg cramps and crossed the line with his team mates in a great time of 5:27:45. Well done to all of you – a fantastic achievement and great team work to get each other over the line!
Club Championships latest scores – HERE
Club Championship After the Carlisle Duathlon we have changes in the league table. Stephen Lewis moves back to the top of the male list and Nicola Carruthers is top of the female list. Remember, any event from October 2014 is eligible but only one run /swim, two duathlons and three triathlons will be counted. As we are a Triathlon Club duathlon and run results can be replaced with other triathlons, i.e. a max of six. If you send me the event name, your result and the winners result (male or female) I will put your best combinations into the table.
